Fall Adventure

Last weekend, we packed up the family and drove to Wisconsin. What a beautiful state it is ~ and we were only in the southern part. I was taken by the narrows roads lined with trees and dairy farms. We went to a natural spring as well as a lakeside park. Finally we reached the apple orchard. The hayride took us up to the hills of the orchard where we picked a small basket of apples (macoun is our new family favorite) and got three little pumpkins from the patch. The smell of cider donuts filled the air as the hayride dropped us off. Once those delicious circles of heaven were in our tummies, we made our way to the store. The small store was packed with people sampling a variety of treats. We bought some chips and an apple pie cooked in a brown paper bag. We ate a quick bite of dinner and boarded a train to the next town where we looked in the museum and the cool little ice cream shop. Once back to the car, the kids immediately fell asleep. Andy and I drove slowly through Lake Geneva. That is the place I have been looking for ever since I moved here 8 years ago. And I was VERY excited to learn that it is literally a straight shot from our home ~ only a little over an hour. This is a great age to start these traditions ~ and we have found our place to go year after year!
