Emma Time

As much as I don't want to admit it, my little Emma is not so little anymore. She has always been very ... bright. A few months back, she started making pictures of people. Circles that didn't close or closed too much, 100 eyes, etc. But to her, they were people. Then, suddenly, last Friday she produced this picture of her daddy (the line under his mouth is "the hair under his mouth").

Tonight was another example of her new grown-up self *sniff, sniff*. Payton was asleep and I could hear her talking. So I went in to cover her up. She sat up and said "Payton is asleep. Can we talk?" A bit thrown off, I eagerly said yes. "What am I doing tomorrow?" she asked. I told her that she would be going to Linda's (her babysitters). She started to tell me all of her friends and what she would like to do with them. I asked her what she would like for breakfast. She thought a minute ... "Oatmeal and BAnaNana....I am so excited. I am going to sleep. Goodnight." Then she waited for me to cover her up, and she was out before I shut the door.

Oh my gosh! She looks like a real little girl. Don't you just sometimes look at them and try to figure out when that happened? Her drawing of daddy is superb. An artist in the making!

Those are definitely heart warming moments for a mom. She's beautiful and it's amazing how grown up she seems. Time certainly flies!

How awesome. Your two little ones are so different but both are maturing nicely.

I can't believe how grown-up she is! What a talker! That is a great 'people' picture too. She definitely is a bright one, for sure!
