So I was feeling better ... until yesterday evening. While the kids were eating dinner, I started to get a headache. I decided to eat a little bit to see if that would help. Within an hour, I was sensitive to light & noise and started ... getting sick. Emma called Andy (with some help from me), and he got home. By 10:30 I easily had the worst headache I have ever had and my blood pressure was HIGH. I called the doctor to see what I could take with my many other prescripts I am taking lately. She was very concerned and told me to get to the ER now. Obviously the kids were in bed & I had to decide between a cab or an ambulance. So I opted with a cab.
I was in the ER before midnight. The dark, cool room was rather refreshing. And the almost 10 minutes of trying to find a place for my IV was a nice break from my head throbbing. I was given a medication for the pain ~ which had side effects of nausea and itchiness. Thankfully there is medication to make those stop. The pain went from a 10 to a 5 rather quickly. I was taken to get a cat scan. Another dose of pain medicine was given and helped the headache more. The cat scan was fine and I was advised to do a spinal tap (which I declined at this time). I arrived home around 4:30 am. I have spent most of the day in bed sleeping. I am finally getting up and around.
Anyhoo, to make this post not all yucky ... I was tagged by Pokey Puppy a few days ago. I am going to do a variation ~ 5 Favorite Things:
1. Bobbi Brown makeup ~ my mom gave me eye shadow a few years ago. I slowly have changed all my makeup over.
2. VO5 hair products ~ I came across the conditioning spray and loved it. I have started to use the shampoo, moose, etc. My hair is getting more compliments than ever.
3. Beth Moore's David Bible study ~ my friend and I are studying it together. And my Sunday school class happens to be studying Samuel, so it goes hand in hand!
4. Mardel Christian Store ~ one of the places I miss most about Oklahoma. It is owned by Hobby Lobby and is the best Christian bookstore. They have music, books, gifts, office supplies, children's things, and teacher stuff. It is awesome!!
5. Eric Carle books & games ~ I just finished the unit at school. I just adore his books and art. The kids also really enjoy learning. Emma and Payton LOVE his books. Truly a favorite!

Oh my gosh! Where was I when you told this story at the SB Party? Definately follow up w/ this...migraines can cause strokes...my neurologist was concerned that might be the cause of mine. Will be praying.
I used to get migraines...awful, awful ones. One of my docs suggested that when no other cause is found it can often be due to food allergies. That was the case for me. And I had never been (allergic) before.
Just my two cents.
Hope you are feeling better very very soon my dear!
Oh wow!
i just found your blog thru Hunny Bee (I think) and I'm so sorry!
I've had the odd head ache but nothing like that! YIKES!
Also I noticed you mentioned a Beth Moore study you loved. I'm going to see her speak at the end of the month. And my bible study is just about to start Daniel. I'd never heard of her until a month ago so I'm kind of excited! I hear great things!
Oh, I hope you're feeling better --it's no fun to be in the ER, is it? Although -- it was a break away -- like you said a nice cool dark room with no one crying for you! :)
Hope you're feeling better!
:(
Scary news! Hope everything is alright. Looking forward to seeing you and the kids again sometime soon.
My favorite things are my children and family. Keeping in touch with family is important and everyone loves to get mail. I got these cute stationary cards with pics of our family on them. Thought you might like them since you have twins too. Your kids are adorable. Have a great Saint Patty's Day!!
