... has said to me "I have always wanted twins" is in need of some serious counseling. Even mothers of twins make you think that being two years old is not as terrible as being one. What planet are they living on? Today is Monday, in case you haven't looked at a calendar, and we are beginning our second week of no napping. And it appears they will nap for everyone except me and Daddy.
Let me tell you a few of the Adventures in No Napping Land.
* continual jumping in bed * continual screaming and playing * singing * laughing * dancing * talking about what going to eat for snack * throwing all items out of bed and wanting someone to pick them up * mysteriously, toys that I swear were across the room are in Payton's bed * a whole new box of wipes are opened and thrown all over Payton's bed (that one is my fault for leaving them too close to his crib) * all of that in the first 15 minutes of nap today
I have tried a little rearrangement, making it harder for them to see one another. That does not work. I have tried new Cd's or no CD. That does not work. I have taken nap time things away (blankies, etc), putting one in my bed, and negotiating. Nothing is working.
I am quickly becoming a cranky Mommy ~ and the next person who says "I have always wanted twins" might find themselves with twins!

Yes, no nap=cranky mommy is sooo true!
My boys are 18 months apart and share a bedroom. They do great at night but they WILL NOT take a nap if they are in the same room. Even if I have to stick a pack n play in the hallway to seperate them at nap time I do it. Even if they don't sleep it is good to give them time away from each other (and I always need that mid day break!)
I'm working through this one with Little Miss (2 yrs) right now. The worst part is that Little Man (1 1/2 yrs) really REALLY still needs a nap, but because they share a room, she keeps waking him up. Yesterday she put some of her hair cream on his head and tried to do the hair on his nearly-bald head WHILE HE WAS SLEEPING! Horribly frustrating! Fortunately, both got good naps today, so the world seems rosier.
